WHO I AM

Hello, my name's Jen. I'm an award-winning poet and short story writer. My debut short story collection 'The Beginning of the World in the Middle of the Night' is published by Two Roads, and my children's books 'Franklin's Flying Bookshop,’ ‘Franklin and Luna Go To The Moon’ and ‘Franklin and Luna and the Book of Fairy Tales’ are published by Thames and Hudson. Weird Things Customers Say in Bookshops was hilarious. I picked up Franklin’s Flying Bookshop when it came out because I was in the UK the day it came out (and I didn’t want to wait 2 months for it to come out in Canada), I then picked up The Beginning of The a World in the Middle of the Night last year at Shakespeare & Co. when I visited Paris.

This was such a trip down memory lane haha. I started watching your channel in 2015 and my mom bought all your books you had out then for me for Christmas because I would not shut up about you, and I have since bought many of your books for my friends and family.

I remember discovering Weird Things Customers Say in Bookshops at work one day. We had no customers ourselves, so I stood at the till and read the book from cover to cover (reading books at the till has become a regular occurrence and I hope head office never find out). I've enjoyed sharing the Franklin books with my nephew and look forward to sharing the next book with him. + The Girl Aquarium and The Beginning of the World at the End of the Night are simply brilliant - also make great gifts, quite honestly. I really ought to purchase The Bookshop Book. That's the only one I've yet to get to.

I rarely comment but I just wanted to say that I've been a huge fan of yours for quiet some time, I live in Turkey and I often try to contact some publishers and convince them to translate your work. There are a few places here that sells some of your books but they are very expensive. I hope to get my hands on your books one day nonetheless, they all sound really interesting.
