Got the latch from Amazon for $20. Used your video to understand how to change it out. Just saved over $400 for a new microwave. Thank you!

3:36 There are internal latching tabs holding the inner door trim. If you don't push them back they will break off. They are protected by a small guard tab that can be pushed back from the inner edge. 8:34 There are more tabs that hold inner door assembly together. Look closely. Use shims or playing cards to separate and hold open the tabs to be able to remove the inner door trim. Failure to release either sets of tabs will result in them breaking off and then it'll cost you a lot to replace the trim piece.

Thanks SO much for this video. My latch was fine, but the piece of plastic that secured the spring inside the door broke off. With some Gorilla glue and your video I was able to reattach the spring and the door works again! Without your video I was about to spend $300+ on a new microwave

Thank you! I didn't have the same model of microwave, however the same concept held true with only some slight differences. Likely just saved a good chunk of money by reattaching the spring to the latch.

At 1:16, there are actually FIVE screws securing the inner door assembly; 1 at each corner, plus a 5th at the center of the top side. (They're all silver screws on a black background, so they're easy to see.) Other than that, top-notch, guys!

I replaced the switch (middle) and it thought that was the problem. The wave works, but the door has a bit of a sag so the only way to operate is to push the door up to engage the switch. This leads me to think the latch is fatigued. Door is not snapping in place. Any thoughts? Bought my switch from Repair Clinic, great service.

Do you have info on dealing with an inoperative "lift" that is activated by pushing in the button on the control panel? From what I can tell, it is the upper lift bar that is not working. The actual hook unit in the door seems to be fine.

Some doors need the inner trim surround removed first so you easily lift the door hinge pins up off the hinge tabs.

We followed the steps to remove the top vent panel successfully but are having difficulty freeing the door from the two white hinges so we can proceed with latch replacement. Any suggestions?

These latches distort, and rotate the upper hook, causing the switches to operate out of syncronization. That shorts out the monitor switch, and then problems ensue.
