The most well-known version of this piece is Toska po Rodine, “Homesickness”, a Russian March. The original piece is titled Marche Selanik, “March of Thessaloniki”, a Greek March.

So yes, this piece isn’t actually Filipino in origin, and definitely not “Folk”, but this rendition of the Greek/Russian March is Filipino music at heart.

kapag namatay ako, bumangon ka

kapag bumangon ako, mamamatay ka

English Translation:

when i die, you rise

when i rise, you die

Let us celebrate this moment the Andres Bonifacio’s famous speech. Let's remember our courageous hero through one of his quotes: “Ang pagsusumikap at pagpipilit na kumita ng ikakabuhay ay nagpapahayag ng tunay na pagmamahal sa sarili, sa asawa, anak, kapatid, at kababayan.”

English Version:

Working hard and insisting on earning a living expresses true love for oneself, one's wife, children, siblings, and countrymen."

I'm a Filipino
Take you down like a rhino
But I'm horny like the people
in the slums of Tondo
Early in the morning
They shout BALUT !
But the girls keep running towards me
They want me to slap their butt

I'm a Filipino
I'm dark like adobo
Bring up the garlic and chili
I like how she tastes me
In the morning I cook her mongo
In the night
she whispers I love you
Under the sheets like lumpia
She be moaning like AAAH !
