Disney’s Theme Parks are known as the places where dreams come to life. From princesses’ castles to jaw-dropping roller coaster rides, a day at one of these parks can surely change someone’s life forever. Unfortunately, this hasn’t been the case for everyone. Some people made visits to a Disney Park just to find an awful fate. In today’s video, we’ll be looking at “10 Disney Rides that Have Killed People.” You heard that ride, there are actually ten attractions in these parks that have been responsible for the passing of innocent lives. Of course, the park authorities didn’t see this coming, but this video shows us that even the happiest place on Earth can easily turn nightmares into reality. Sailing Ship Columbia

Christmas is one of the most celebrated holidays at Disney. Even though most of these parks are in mostly-sunny destinations, the staff makes sure that you can experience a winter wonderland at this time of the year. Some people go as far as visiting the parks right at the peak of the season, and that includes visits during Christmas Eve. That’s exactly the day that Luan Phi Dawson chose to visit when a large metal cleat came off from the Sailing Ship Columbia ride during the 1998 celebrations at Disneyland. The metal piece fell on the man’s head and its weight was more than enough to leave him brain dead and ultimately died two days after the incident. Just like in most of the cases on this list, the family of the victim took legal action and got 25 million dollars from the park. But I guess no amount of money is enough to cover the loss of a loved one, especially during a time like Christmas.

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster

Before you get on these intense rides, you are always warned to check your health conditions. After all, a lot of these rides can cause serious damage to your health if you’re not ready for the experience. But some people sometimes are not even aware of their health conditions and can’t even assess whether it’s a good idea to get on a ride or find something else to do. In June of 2006, a 12-year-old from Kentucky was visiting Disney’s Hollywood Studios and decided to ride on the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster. But sadly, once the ride was over, people came to find the boy unconscious on his seat. He had to be rushed to the hospital, but he died before he could even get medical attention. After running an investigation, they came to find out that the boy had an undiagnosed heart condition. For that reason, his body could not take the intensity of the ride. It’s always good to have medical check-ups. Especially, if you love roller coasters. While all of the rides surely seem fun, not all of us are ready for all of them - and that’s totally fine. There’s so much more that we can do at these parks.

The Monorail Track

The next attraction on this list is not only used as a way to entertain people but also to transport them! It’s Disney’s Monorail Track, which was actually the first monorail system in the Western Hemisphere. And even though it looks harmless, it was also the cause of a terrible incident. It all happened in 1966 when a 19-year-old guy tried to sneak into Grad Nite, which is Disney’s annual celebration for students who have just graduated from high school. Apparently, this guy was not invited to the party, but he still wanted to sneak in. A security guard spotted him and try to stop him, but this guy was very persistent. But in order to get to the party while breaking in, the guy had to cross the monorail track. And sadly, when he was doing that, he didn’t notice that the train was already approaching. After that, it was too late for the guy to get out, and ended up getting hit by the train and ultimately lost his life.

PeopleMover

Similar to the monorail incident, the PeopleMover also became the scenario of an unfortunate event. And just like the monorail, the PeopleMover is also a transportation attraction, which means that it was used to move people around at Tomorrowland in Disneyland, California. In 1967, a 17-year-old guy thought it would be a good idea to move cars while the ride was in motion. This caused him to stumble, fall into the tracks, and get dragged hundreds of feet away.

Um, this was interesting but.... I think... There was a lot skipped or accidentally cut out. Like the People Mover section only lasted long enough to list the ride's name, then immediately skipped ot the Tom Sawyer ride. Then the Matterhorn ride got to the part where the girl was thrown, then the video ended abruptly. What I saw was interesting, but I wish I could see the whole thing.

everyone relax!! especially those who love rock n roller coaster (myself included) the ride did not kill the boy, it was 100% an under going health condition. the ride is perfectly safe and very entertaining!

The only ride that caused a death due to Disneyland’s negligence was the Thunder Mountain Railroad. The parade and the sailing ship Columbia were not rides. The rest either broke the rules or had pre existing medical conditions.

Dude the picture on the thumbnail with the broken track is out of context. That part is in the mount everest roller coaster in disney world, but that's when the ride goes backwards

They forgot the little boy who was killed on the Rodger Rabbit ride. I believe he got out of the car and was struck by another one

(unpopular opinion) rides are unpredictable and there are reasons for the height, age, and heath restrictions. Most of the time it is the park guests fault for not be careful and not taking the correct precautions. Also people get mad at the characters "ignoring" them, the characters have limited sight and hearing wise.

I used to go to Walt Disney World a lot. I would complain to guest services and people that worked at Ft. Wilderness that kids would go in the lake and it is dangerous because of gators. They ignored me. A few years later, a little boy was dragged into the water by a gator....what a surprise....
