Hi there!

I'm back with a music theory related video explaining what Reggaeton is, one of the most popular music genre today, now a real global phenomenon that regularly tops the charts all over the world.

It hasn't been easy to fit all the content I had in mind in 2 minutes but hopefully I managed to make it clear, understandable and, above all, fun! :)

Enjoy!

Davide

This shows that you are extremely competent with all sorts of topics. Even us who don't exactly like the music still enjoys your videos. It is such interesting explanations with some nice beats ( The electro swing and swing are my favorites) Good job and keep going

I was explaining to someone how I can hear the same rythm in most popular songs today, and for some reason, I remembered that might be called reggaeton... but I wasn't sure about it so I searched on YT and I found your brilliant explanation! Thank you!

Ah, one of my least liked genres. I really don't like how most of them basically have the exact same rhythmic block. And this is even in regard to other genres. But regardless, it's always interesting to see your breakdowns.

Awesome breakdown as always, even if I don't like the music itself. Could you do a "What is Hardbass?" Please?

The worst thing about reggueton is being spanish and understanding the lyrics...

I could honestly watch these kinds of videos all day. It's so cool to see how the math breaks down and exactly the carefully arranged elements come together to make a complete mood.

I’ve been in Nicaragua, Columbia, Mexico, El Salvador, my husband is Colombian and I have a friends who are Puerto Rican Reggaeton from their perspective came from panama. “El General “ was considered the grand father of reggae dancehall Hall (Reggaeton ) he was from Panama. This is what I keep hearing every time I go to a Latin community area. I don’t like Reggaeton either but if I listen to a track from Panama from the 80s and compare it to the 90s, the beat sounds exactly the same

I don’t care what anyone says, reggaeton will always be my guilty pleasure. I love the rhythm and it brightens my day every single time i listen to any kind of reggaeton song.

This is the easiest genre to break down, so props to you for not only breaking it down but also doing research on the actual name of the rythm.

I’ve always wanted to mix this genre with the blues and jazz. Thanks for this video, makes me understand consciously this genre that I basically grew up listening to along blues and jazz!
