"Tatakae! Big Fighter" is a shooter released by Nichibutsu in 1989.
In this game, you can switch between fighter jet and robot form during battle.
The key to clearing a stage is to strengthen your ship with power-up items that appear along the way and change its shape to suit the situation.

The "Arcade Archives" series has faithfully reproduced many classic Arcade masterpieces.
Players can change various game settings such as game difficulty, and also reproduce the atmosphere of arcade display settings at that time. Players can also compete against each other from all over the world with their high scores.
Please enjoy the masterpiece that built a generation for video games.

I never heard of Nichibutsu until Arcade Archives started rereleasing their games, and I have to say, they're a very good, and underrated game developer from the old days.
I especially loved "Crazy Climber, " and it's creative use of two joysticks.

Still hoping that someday they'll release Violent Storm as part of this.

This looks like a lot of fun. Can't get "Starscream: The Game" out of my head, though XD

Nice to see this getting released on Arcade Archives. For a second, I thought it came with a Western release as Sky Robo.

Looks kinda good. Reminds me of Side Arms and Heavy Unit.

Believed to be Nichibutsu's last proper coin-op game before focusing exclusively on strip mahjong for that market.

I still wonder why Mandler appears in this game. I mean, isn't Mandler the main villain of the Terra Cresta series? Is this game even part of the Terra Cresta universe?

I was expecting Parodius Da or Twinbee Yahho but at least this game looks decent and how the ship transforms into a mecha, amazing too.

"Hidden gem" may be a bit of a buzzword these days, but it's a perfectly appropriate term for this game.
