I never knew that about the blue pen and it puts Russ in a good light. This edit needs to be seen by fans everywhere, especially future pro athletes.

When Russell Westbrook was in Oklahoma City, everyone who dealt with him said he was the nicest Most genuine guy you could ever meet.

even if thats not the reason. Russ is allowed to have a bad day or not sign one thing, he has been good to the fans and signed tons of things and contributed to many communities. Thanks for all the memories Brodie.

Traditionally, before colored copiers…A blue ink pen was used to ascertain an original signature over a copied signature.

I went to a game of DC vs OKC (visitors). A kid around 9-10 years old yelled at Westbrook. "Westbrook, you are my favorite player!!". Westbrook immediately took his shoes off and gave it to him. 😊

The music makes this moment appear deeper than it needs to be 😂

whether it was a blue pen or not, nobody owes anyone anything. you aren't a bad person for refusing an autograph

That one kid that accidentally brought a blue pen:

More context: I’ve seen this same kid and his dad in lots of other videos asking athletes for autographs. The kid and his father (recording the video) go to lots of sports events and things of the such and ask/beg the athletes for autographs, the father then immediately takes the autographed memorabilia and sells it racking up a pretty good profit from it. He uses his son because athletes are more likely to sign for a kid than a grown man and he records it for authenticity when reselling.

With today's technology, nobody needs to worry about the color of a pen to create a fake signature

Respect these people they would’ve definitely been taught well

Blue ink and black ink are no more or less transferable than each other. Maybe it was once an issue with blue ink, but anymore both types can have inks that smear hours later and inks that dry instantly.

Also worrying about ink transfer is complete BS, you can only get at most 1 suitable fake out of a transfer, all that effort wouldn’t make it worth that.

I honestly never knew that and I’m glad we have someone like Pat Bev to bring light to that. Russ is truly a one of a kind player and deserves all respect.

Russell Westbrook is a good guy off court, we should stop slandering if he's destroying our teams.

Pat Bev is a legend for saying that so nobody hates Russ for it

Met Russell twice and he’s a super nice guy. Smart and on point.

The man is not required to give autographs to every child who wants one, blue or black pen. It’s nice when they stop but they aren’t bad people if they don’t.
