I hope Pierre shows his face more than Bonnie. Bonnie had a tendency to not speak for the company unless they were announcing something or apologizing; Even then, she barely did that.

8:00 I think Warframe’s Dev Streams are the prime example of community interaction with the devs on the future of a game. The devs play the game, sometimes with fans, show some experimental stuff, do QnA’s, host quick giveaways, etc. It’s a really great bonding experience of sorts between the devs and the players!

The fact that one of the folks filling Bonny Loss’s shoes is the guy responsible for turning MCC around from the mess it was in to something that can stand toe-to-toe with (and oftentimes surpass) Infinite in terms of enjoyment says a lot about Phil wanting to get this entire mess back on track and avoid repeating itself once again.

Something else I think they should focus on in this hypothetical next Halo game, is making it offline friendly and future proofed. Everything in Halo 5 aside from campaign is unplayable offline and will be lost to time whenever the servers go down. Halo Infinite offline has all customization lost as well, on top of the physical copy not even having a playable game able to be installed offline. Halo 5 and Infinite will be largely lost to time whenever the servers go down, and that's how a lot of games are now. They should strive to be offline friendly to prevent that next time (This isn't something everyone brings up, but I really care about preservation so this is important to me)

I think for the talk show aspect they could maybe get the red vs blue guys to do it. I know Sarge showing up in a warthog yelling about new features would be fun

As a person who works with 3d modeling and animation I can’t imagine how a company can be so slow to change even simple things like when that Mohawk was crooked on spartan helmets. That literally takes a minute to fix. Here’s hoping under new management they hire some of the old contractors as permanent employees and get their shit together

Please talk about 343’s flawed “Team Balancing” MMR matchmaking system. It literally prevents me from finding social matches with one similar skilled friend and has been happening since launch in the US.

What they need to learn is FOCUS!!! Always as a leader there has to be a mentality of "BEGIN WITH THE END IN MIND". The studio as a whole needs to know from the outset this is the vision for this game, no ifs ands or buts. It has to be a WHOLE team initiative. "That lone wolf stuff stays behind". The game and studio will need to succeed as a team or they will wither away as separate factions at the same time

There's a phrase called "Too little, too late" and it applies in full when talking about 343.
The closing statement of believing that halo infinite becoming a worthwhile game in a few years is insane too.
Halo 3 didn't need "a few years" to be a good game, nor did two or ODST or even reach, they had and kept players entertained since day one.

343 doesn't know what makes a good halo game nor the halo universe well... the halo universe and has fumbled the ball far too many times to overlook their gross incompetency on display.

you mention Splatoon 3 as an example of what 343 can do which is a great way for showing how the game will be updated post launch as in the Nintendo direct for the game they mentioned that they will add a new catalogue (or battlepass) every 3 months for 2 years along with community events called Splatfests (both of which are showed off in game with the announcers) it is a great example of what 343 can do to make the Halo community feel like they should trust their next game

One thing that does annoy me is that 343 refuses to patch Halo Wars 2, it’s in a good spot but there are still a couple of things that needs a fix like the veterancy bug which has not been fixed in years and they had only been supporting the the game for like 3 years after launch. Understandably it’s not the biggest priority but 343 needs to ensure us that they don’t just give up so quickly on games like this

As someone who only really cares about the campaign, I really agree with the idea that making a new game is probably better than trying to resuscitate Infinite and keep it alive for 10 years. Halo Infinite's campaign had a promising direction and a pretty decent story but it also felt noticeably scarred by its troubled development. It ends on a cliffhanger before the story really seemed like it was about to start, and I'm not really excited about the potential of that story being continued piecemeal in little DLC chunks over the next 10 years. I would rather get a big meaty replayable package every 5-7 years than a yearly dripfeed of singleplayer content.

Yes the actual devs are doing their best, especially the MCC team. The (mis)management of resources and the outsourcing to timely limited contractors is the root of the problems i believe. With the change in management we'll hopefully see the game getting better soon, yet it will still take some time until its in a good state

I would love a Halo game that revolves around our MP Spartan with 3rd Person POV, imagine the open world Style of Ghost recon Wildlands, Breakpoint, but with Halo Spartans, where you can fly into or it to an Infinity style ship aka Social Hub, an ddeoy on to ground bases via Pelican or other ships and even jump out of them and land all super hero landing, or even launch from a drop pod...

However the next game turn out to be I hope they finally acknowledge the fact that Halo is NOT a competitive shooter and it's more of a sandbox casual experience

343 was doomed the second it named itself after the villain

I think 343's role in leading Halo, in the 10+ years I've really enjoyed is Halo the Fall of Reach the animated series (which they didn't directly create) & MCC which took multiple years to get into shape. I think serious consideration should be put into their role in the series.

I feel like... there's so much more to talk about here than how Infinite is going to pan out. The game launched and it was a dud, the studio's been sacked, and the game will likely get better over time with incremental updates, or it won't. I doubt either way will make much difference.

What the community NEEDS to be talking about is how this is a pivotal point, one in which the fans to stand up and say, hey, 343, it's ok that you weren't Bungie, but we gotta start freshy fresh. Halo 4 was the start of a long and painful downward slide for the entire franchise. Sure we can talk about the future of Halo Infinite but what about the future of Halo itself? Are we going to get another TERRIBLE Halo show? Are we going to hope that there's passionate devs that understand Halo to its core? Campaign reboots, one after the other? Failed promises?

Like, that's what everyone needs to be talking about. What does the future of this franchise need in order to survive?

Wasn't expecting Late Night to mention Splatoon
