The National media obviously doesn't actually watch Bears games. Eberflus took over defensive play calling in week 2 against Tampa Bay. Sweat first took the field for the Bears in week 10 against New Orleans. The starting defensive secondary finally got healthy shortly before the Sweat trade, so those two things combined are what created the change in the Bears defensive performance. Sacks and pressure picked up after the Sweat trade, but was still below league average, so it wasn't Sweat by himself. Health will be the biggest factor in the Bears performance this season, as they suffered through numerous injuries to the offensive line and defensive secondary the past couple of seasons. Poles has improved the roster, both starters and depth, so if they can avoid concurrent injuries to 3+ starters in those two groups they should be noticeably improved as a team.

This was excellent

It was so strange hearing out of market media talk about the Bears and actually show that they did their homework

Bears fans, we will never have another offseason quite like this one. Bears got more shine than the freakin Chiefs!

DJ is incorrect. The fortunes of this team changed Week 18 2022 when Lovie Smith’s Houston Texans, with the #1 overall pick in the bag, his job on the line, on the final drive of the game down 7, converted not one, but two 4th and longs and a 2pt conversion to beat the Indianapolis Colts giving Daaa Bears the #1 overall pick. Which has been parlayed to:

DJ Moore
Darnell Wright
Tyrique Stevenson
Caleb Williams
Austin Booker (2025 4th round received from Eagles in trade swap, used to move back into 2024 5th round)
2025 2nd round pick
2025 6th round pick (JF1 trade to Steelers w potential to become a 4th if he plays 51% of snaps this year).

Thank you Lovie. Thank you Davis Mills. Thank you Brandon Cooks. Thank you Moe Allie Cox. Thank you 2022 Indianapolis Colts defense.

Much love,

Chicago

Hopefully hes his own player that being CWs. If he can just be top 7 and a gamer as in clutch for what the Bears have had previously that will be awesome someone you can probably win a championship with. Also I predict Rome is going to be a star in this league for years to come.

Hope Poles somehow can trade for a high-level OL before week 1. 🙏

The culture of the Bears is Hard nose defense first and foremost. Second, A punishing run game. Lastly, a Quarterback that excepts and embraces that culture. A quarterback with a reckless desire to match that defense and run intensity by any means necessary! Hence Jim McMahon/Sid Luckman...

Bucky loses credibility when he says Caleb only played off structure at USC.
The previous year when the team was better, he had Addison and didnt HAVE to play hero ball he played in structure quite a bit. There are also numerous examples from last year as wel
And he acts like Mahomes came into the league fully formed...which he obviously didnt because he lasted until pick 12...
Just regurgitating others uniformed take.
Very, very poor effort Buckster😂😂😂

So many overconfident fans out there. Bears fans consistently seem to fall for the offseason hype. Surely they can’t have another losing season! National and local media love to gaslight us into thinking the team can compete. The Bears organization is exceptional at one thing… selling 💩 on the 🏈 🏟️. It is the only team in the NFL to start every season 0-2 (guaranteed 2 losses to GB). I’ll believe the hype when this team actually wins real meaningful games.
