The Chinese language next to Chairman Mao is: Long live the People's Republic of China. Long live the unity of the people of the world!

I visited the Forbidden City in the winter of 2009 and it was unforgettable! As a Chinese/Taiwanese, visiting the place evoked deep emotions tied to the history and events I learned since I was young. The stories of each Emperor, his ministers, generals, queens, concubines, and all the other notable figures, as well as many lesser-known ciphers, made exploring the Forbidden City a profound experience as it triggered a nostalgic connection. Watching this makes me want to revisit Beijing! Thanks for the excellent content!

If the Summer Palace had not been ruined by the western countries, we won't feel it's a pity to see the magnificent infrastructure in the world.

The Temple of Heaven was built without using even one piece of nail. Essentially the woods were linked together through intelligent engineering design and craftmanship centries ago.

Fascinating.

When I was visiting the Forbidden City and the Temple of Heaven a few years ago, the tourist guide told us that in both buildings not a single nail were used. They were built by using wooden joints in order to withstand any earthquake.

When I was an exchange student in Beijing, a professor told me that in the ancient time, government officials and ministers live outside the palace and they have to get up really early to get to work in the palace, because the palace is massive, it is a really long walk for them. Some emperors start to work at 5am, so his ministers have to get up at 3am!

Most appreciative to you both for taking the time to look up the history of the places that you're visiting. Thanks

Love your honest opinion about China. Been there twice ( Nov 2019 and Nov 2023). Visiting again in March 2024. Indian origin but settled in USA.

This is a part I love about China: there are a lot people and elderly going to public parks doing routine exercises either solo or in group with or without music. It's a healthy mentality to start your day get going. Something my mom will love to join with a couple of friends

I lived in China for 5 years and I was based in Beijing. It's an incredible city and very vibrant. Incredibly safe and friendly. Used to roam around the streets at 2am, no issues.

The foreign flag in tiananmen square means these is a meeting with the leader of that country, its like a welcome sign. sometimes there will be dozens or 100+ foreign flags, it means there is a international meeting in Beijing.we treat them equally,no matter how big or how small their country is.😅

I love your energy. China is great. I will be visiting Beijing in March with my daughter. Go to the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall. It was spectacular.
