CSB Large Print Personal Size - Brown Saddle Leather

This is one of my favorite CSB layouts that Holman/Lifeway has to offer. There is something about the personal size format that just lands well with me. Generally I prefer a double column, but with this one being a true large print (10pt font which reads larger) I think single column was the right call. This allows more words per line and provides a cleaner reading experience.

With all that said, this brown saddle leather (cowhide) is epic. It’s soft, with a very light sheen. Almost like an eggshell. The spine hubs are well defined and the stamping is DEEP. I really hope they bring this leather into the Holman Handcrafted line, because it is truly premium leather. This one is a paste down vinyl liner, so I am thankful that didn’t use paper there.

Where this thing is really impressive is the price. Coming in at just over $50! Whoa!! Folks, you won’t find a better CSB for that price! I've had this for a few weeks now and I like it, but at the same time I'm discovering that I'm just not a single column person. So if they kept this same saddle leather, and the same basic size, and released it in a two column text with 10 pt font, I would be all over it.

Dude. What are you doing to me? I don’t need another Bible now. 😂 I have a 10.5pt single-column NKJV that is a *joy* to read. I bought an older variation of a single-column CSB they released as the Reader’s Bible, but it has a smaller font and *no* verse numbers, so it wasn’t as satisfying an experience to read. The one you reviewed appears to fix my complaints… I like two-column reference Bibles (like my Quentels) for serious study, but these more “novel-like” layouts are wonderful for just reading.

I guess maybe I do need another Bible. 🤦🏻‍♂️😂
