In this video I review the HiBoost 10K Smart Link Cell Phone Signal Booster for Home and Office. It boosts indoor cell phone reception by amplifying signals outside and can cover up to 5,500 square feet. How well does it work?

Outstanding job reviewing this great product. As someone who lives in a rural part of the country, these gadgets are quite essential. Keep up the good work, Tyler. I enjoy watching your videos.

I installed three of these at a children’s home in Mexico and was able to massively increase cellular service for the Director and house parents. Fantastic products!

The Sidekick model (2, 000 sq ft $269.99) took my Verizon reception from barely one bar (or zero bars) to full bars LTE. Amazing. Miraculous, even.

My home was built in 1940 with expanded metal (wire mesh) for the plaster lath. The 'Faraday cage' effect has been a nuisance since I was a kid, in the 60's -- no FM, very little AM, almost no weather radio or broadcast TV. Everything requires an outdoor antenna. So I have a decent tower, and good OTA TV. Step outside and you'll have plenty of signal. Step inside and your cell phone is as dead as fried chicken. (This makes it interesting when a visitor is expecting a call). I've looked into solutions (repeaters) over the years, and nothing really looked too promising / affordable, but now you've got me willing to revisit that 'mission'. It would be cool to remedy this once and for all.

I have been thinking for a few weeks now that I was wishing for a more current review of a cell signal booster. Thank you!

Haven't had any issues buying any of your recommended items. HiBoost is definitely proud of this signal booster. Almost $600.

I can definitely see a use for this product and being that an antenna is involved and signals, it fits right in to your channel's content. i hate when channels about technology advertise say 'blenders' or 'Shaving products'. Informative and supportive of your channel.

Boondocking RV campers have used these for years with nearly universal praise.

They do work in specific circumstances like Tyler pointed out. They do not support MIMO paths so don’t expect blazing fast data speeds. But they will get a call through. Also note you have to have a signal outside to start with. It cannot boost nothing.

Hey Tyler, have you ever had a strange, crazy or perilous antenna install? I, for one, would love to hear about non-routine installations you may have experienced. THANKS! Please keep up the great work and stay safe!

I have poor cell phone reception at my house. This is not a problem because I use the Wi-Fi calling feature on my phone. My carrier supports it and it works very well. I can use my cell phone to make or take phone calls even when I'm in my basement.
Most modern cell phones have this feature. Just check with your carrier if they support it and if they allow it on your specific phone model.

I have the Dot model. I live smack-dab in the middle of a suburb of 40K, but equidistant away from 3 of my towers (each almost exactly 1½ mile away from me). Before, I was lucky to get one bar, had choppy voice calls and hardly any data throughput. There was some trial-and error getting it going. Aiming the outdoor antenna toward the tower south of me gave me best results. YMMV. The dot now gives me 2 to 3 bars. Quite happy.

Make sure the two antennas can't see/hear each other. Otherwise there will be feedback and the amp will have to turn down the volume of the booster. Kinda like pointing a microphone at the amp/speakers will give you feedback.

I installed a docking station in my truck for my I phone. The docking station has an internal antenna. The external antenna is on the outside of the truck. The problem i encountered was the docking station and the external antenna were too close causing feedback. The antenna manufacturer suggested the antennas needed to be 50 feet apart. My solution was to move the antenna to the back of my truck on the topper. The top is fiberglass. I purchase a ground plane plate tuned to the correct frequency and metalized shielding fabric. I glued the fabric to the underside of the fabric to the topper and grounded it to the ground plane, making a Faraday cage. No more feedback.

Hi Tyler. I appreciate all your great product reviews. For this one, you tested with download and upload speeds but I didn't see what the appreciable dBm gain was after the install. I am considering this product however the outside signal here is -110 dBm. I want to be sure this will work despite the low signal level outside. It would be nice to know what gain for achieved. Thanks

Thanks again for everything that you do. I only get reception if I travel to almost the top of the mountain here so I doubt this would work for me. Hopefully when the fiber line drop is installed. I will have a WiFi signal strong enough for my phone to work correctly.
