Many years later, as he watched the Netflix trailer, he could still remember the opening lines of this book word for word.

For those who are planning to watch this series, I would suggest to read the nove first. Other wise you are ruining one of the best aesthetic experience you can have. The craft and imagination of best 100 film makers of all time put together can't match with what Márquez has done with words in the novel.

The book is simply brilliant. You can read it again every year and still find something new.

Netflix, you better not mess this up! There will be a whole lot of South Americans waiting to make sure this is worthy of Garcia Marquez's great opus. Myself included.
That said, I'm very excited to see this!!!

This book gave me the love to read back in high school. Since then I have read it so many times I can recite paragraphs out of it. I hope this gives the book justice. I am excited and afraid.

It's brave of the creators to even attempt to make this! ❤

One of the most gorgeous books ever written. Do not mess this up, Netflix. You take on real, not financial, responsibility when you adapt something like this.

Seems nice, but i think the reason the book is truly unadaptable has nothing to do with the events but the prose itself. As it is written in a way that is itself a summary of periods with highlights on certain events. Similar as to when a relative tells you a story from the family history.
