I am going to give you the best advice you will ever encounter for 3 flips. The scoop isn't with your leg, its a super fast snap of your ankle on the tail. I used to have the same problem.

I have his exact same problem but i can never scoop my back foot all the way back

Ayo in my experience that board has crazy razor a fresh board has crazy pop and will help out with it. Like look at the difference with brails board, the harder the razor the more effort in the scoop.

it is his back foot and when he scoops he scoops down causing his back foot to stay down so he needs to scoop out with his back foot while he jumps.

you need to pop the board more and flick it a little harder if that dosnt help try different foot positions
