... and thank you for clearing up a majority of the faults I had with the software. At the moment there is nothing better for editing videos on Linux and I greatly appreciate the hard work the developers put into making such fantastic software.

The audio issue is a common one. It happens becuase the snip point is when the waveform is not at 0 exactly, leaving a cliff that makes an audible blip. If you have issues with this in various programs, look for a setting that says something like "clip at zero crossings" or something like that which will either fade out the audio before it a bit to 0, or quantize it to the closest zero crossing. Many editors do this as a rule (as Kdenlive does now apparently)

I have a feeling in a couple years kdenlive could be THE video editor

Resolve's color tab is insanely good. I wish that there was some solid FOSS color correction software.

The most unbugged version of kdenlive that I tried was from the appimage from the official site. When I was looking for a video editor, I tried a lot of editors. In the end, I chose Flowblade.

For the past five years I have used KdenLive and while it had stability issues at first, I cannot remember when last I had any issues with it. I am thankful that there are powerful alternatives available but I am most certainly not going to fix anything that is not broken in my case.

Kden is my favorite of editors, even on windows. I remember trying to make a school film project using Openshot and it was horrible to fix the issues the editor would make with clips. Using Kden was like switching from a basic barbell to an olympic sized one, changed everything for the better

My favorite things about Kdenlive is it's ability to be used on older computers and it's support of gifs and webms.

I switched from kdenlive to shotcut...I can confirm that shotcut has hardware acceleration for rendering..as far as i know the free version of DaVinci Resolve has no hardware acceleration..I read that somewhere..

Kdenlive is the true meaning of 'open-source'. Forget all those commercial editing crap like DaVinci and Premiere. Kdenlive is a fully-packed editor which I'm gonna be using for not a short time. I can guarantee that...

maybe a dumb question, but did you try to file bugs for Kdenlive? That would help

Thanks for this video. I'm on a MacBook Pro M2 and my son is on Linux. What's your view on running Kdenlive on an M1/M2 as I'd like us to both get going on the same software if we can.

I have noticed when I change the speed of the video and click on the box for pitch correction. it has this echo sound and that is no good. hope there is a fix with that

I tried to resolve but it never opened. Even when I tried to reinstall it multiple times

Just piping in here. I was originally excited about Davinci Resolve ... until I read about the difficult installation ... and the expensive computer for the needed graphics card ... and it only outputs in the outdated MOV format ...Ugh! I just stayed with Kdenlive and even discovered how to make my own custom wipes in GIMP to use in Kdenlive!

I am pretty happy with kdenlive.
And I am pretty sure Resolve has many features as well, but unfortunately here in my laptop which has AMD GPU it's doesn't work.
(Radeon R5/R6/R7 Graphics and Radeon 540/540X/550/550X / RX 540X/550/550X)

Kdenlive needs the Blender philosophy, they need to copy what Blender is doing, copy their management and development strategy.

I suppose it would be very interesting for the beginners' community to see your comparison video kdenlive vs shotcut and hear your thoughts regarding both of them...

Can someone tell me how I can get AMD HVEC H265 in Kdenlive, been looking for awhile, but can't figure out how to add it. I have an AMD graphics card & no I will not change my graphics card when it works just fine. (I have a 6650XT). I stream/record with H265 so I would very much like to use H265 to video edit as well instead of AMF H264. Since one its less efficient, less qaulity & makes everything more bulky, file wise.

Kdenlive is what I'm used to outside of Davinci Resolve, I don't like the fact I have to keep going to the website to update to new version instead of a automatic update system like almost all other apps & software so I've been trying to use Kdenlive. Since again, I hate the more complicated update process of Davinci, I love Davinci Resolve don't get me wrong its just the update system they need to implement, just like a button they can press to update it to the newest version at the very least without having to go through an install over & over again when theres a new version.
