Gaby’s character is shown to be a insensitive, selfish, immature character. She had no mothering instincts whatsoever. Which is why Juanita turned out the way she was. In her mind, Gaby always resented Juanita for being overweight and not pretty enough as per Gaby’s perspective.
It is not Juanita’s fault she wasn’t mothered properly. Carlos was a far superior parent to her than Gaby.
