Get those feet on the pegs as soon as you start moving, buster. The bikes not gonna tip if you’re going 5+ MPH (8+ Kmh), at least not without significant effort to tip it. That hover-foot stuff is a real bad total beginner habit and is discouraged for good reasons (just one example: getting your foot caught on uneven ground or something stuck to the ground while you’re accelerating can cause you to have a bad time, especially on big bikes with hard stuff positioned right behind your splayed feet). I can snail any Honda forward (big or small) at 1 MPH without ever taking my feet off the pegs (DCT like on a Goldwing is a little more tricky but doable with careful interplay of the throttle and foot-brake). It’s a good skill to have.
