The US Navy Cruise Missile Killer Fires 4,500 Rounds

My Knox Class Frigate got the Phalanx in our shipyard refit in late 1983, after we got back from our Med/IO deployment. Getting back to sea later, it had only a 25% up rate, due to seawater leakage and corrosion. I reckon they eventually fixed that. 🤨

This defensive unit is pretty much the 'last line' of defense when the Destroyer and Cruser screen fails to stop a incoming anti ship missile. Those ships also have a CWIS system onboard.
