What is the difference between Marvin regular fiberglass windows and Marvin Infinity windows. I believe that both use the company’s Ultrex fiberglass material. Would there be any reason to use Infinity for new construction instead of Marvin regular fiberglass windows?

Jeff, these are the best modern windows I've seen for this type of application. What do you do with those old historic windows? I'm assuming they are? I didn't get a good angle on the glass. Hopefully a historic preservation company? They can be given to someone who can repair and re-use them using structural epoxy. At the very least, they can reuse the wavy glass if the frame is too far gone.

Reasons for the bad condition of wood windows: inferior wood (pine, hemlock, etc.), sub-par craftsmanship, poor maintenance.

With good materials, craftsmanship and maintenance, windows made from Sapele or White Oak will outlast any vinyl, aluminum, or composite window. And they look better: Furthermore, they are architecturally correct.

That is, if top-notch looks, architectural fidelity and long-lasting performance are your goals.
