1:33 Another big difference with the retail WoW - Flag Carriers do not receive increased damage over time.
Which means if the 2 flags are being held and your team is bad, and only 1 rogue is trying to get the flag - the battleground is not gonna end.

All you really need from AV is the Quests to turn in spines and teeth etc once for each and the weapon from the trollboss, the rest is just annoying and barely worth the effort.
