Thanks for the video. As my time and patience evolved, I realized Dan was providing my baseline knowledge for my beard with good researched knowledge and honesty. This allowed me a start point to figure out my own beard and what was necessary to keep it healthy. Many thanks Dan.

Dan, thank you for always feeding our minds w/the knowledge a lot of us would not know w/out you. You do give us our baseline as the gentleman below me has said, you also challenge us us to break any old ways we get stuck in and you give at least me, the desire to learn about our own beards so we have the best habits, make the best choices when we purchase our products. Thank you Dan

Thank you! This is just what the doctor ordered! I have been trying to adjust my product use with butter, conditioner, co-wash, and beard wash. Nice one stop shop video with links.

This video cleared it up for me. I use VO 5 silver a good bit.

A good mix for a beard butter I make contains equal parts mango butter beef tallow, finally caster oil to soften the mix. Could use less caster oil or none at all.

This is really great information Dan! I Actually stopped using my leave in conditioner completely. I was using it 1-2 times a month, and after using it, my beard never felt as good as when I used a butter. It was a Beard Octane so I knew it was a good product, I just preferred butter and how it felt the next day. Using the leave in conditioner just didn't make my hair feel as nourished. Also after your video about not conditioning everyday, my beard felt better, and styled better as well!

Good video. I’ve just about eliminated water based conditioners from my routine. I use gentle washes that don’t strip my beard. This seems to allow oils and butters to do a wonderful job conditioning my beard. Thanks.

Well-presented and interesting, although I'm still not sure what to make of it. Fairly long experiments have lead me to stay with co-wash, co-wash, wash; repeat. When Scotch Porter released their Leave-In I couldn't get it to work with my beard, no matter how much guidance they gave me. They said I could co-wash with it in place of their Beard Conditioner, and that worked. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but Beard Oils are made to absorb and coat, meeting that "conditioner" standard. For me, how well and to what degree they do each of those things is more important than scent. I will use only beard oil for days on end, but extreme humidity will have me also using beard butter (although I tire of the feel). What am I missing or not understanding about Leave-In Conditioner that makes it a specific product category and function?
