Stannis waited for every last man to eat before taking his first bite. Only Ned Stark would do the same.

And for all of this, Stanis would receive no credit what so ever despite saving Robbert of alot of headache.

We really must get a new prequel for game of thrones in the times of Robert's rebellion. There are tons of interesting characters we are yet to see in their prime, especially Stannis, Edard and Robert of course.

For anyone wondering as to why this is a huge deal. If storms end was taken, Roberts bannermen most likely would’ve abandoned him, which is why it was so important that Stannis held it.

Renly; 'are you not hungry too?'
Stannis; 'No. Eat!' 💔

Stannis deep down probably had a deep searing hatred for the Tyrells for a long time after this, War or Not

Robert's Rebellion lasted about one year, Stannis held Storm's End for about one year: saying the siege took place at the end of the rebellion is wrong.

Robert not giving Stannis the credit he deserved was one of the few things he did that I really didn't like him for.

So this isn’t actually what happened because you are leaving out the Tyrell’s plan. They technically didn’t siege the castle, they just cut off all supplies and when they knew the defenders of Strom’s End were too weak to fight they still didn’t attack the Castle. Because the Tyrell’s wanted to show their loyalty to House Targaryen in case the mad king won BUT they also didn’t want to kill any Baratheons in case Robert won. That’s why Robert pardoned them when he took the Throne because no Baratheon lives were lost. The Tyrells just had to pay a lot of money to the new Crown and escaped punishment.

That's honestly so stupid. Your brother holds a castle for how many days, eating horses, and then you not only remove him from the place where he made bonds through traumatic expierence, but then also put him into your enemies old house??? Cmon Bobby

Stannis is so interesting. In the world of what if’s… no red priestess… He lets Rob rule the North and keep the other 6 kingdoms… Renly understood his place and respected his brother… just love to see what a King Stannis would have been like

For context,
When Winterfell fell to House Greyjoy, House Bolton smelled weakness in House Stark and Robb Stark was forced to abandon his campaign and march back North.
He would require passage through The Twins...You all know how that went.

The reach using their immense navy and huge army to hold down a castle was an idiotic move🫠

Put small fleet there and 5-10K at Storms End. March army north to the royal army and send navy to the Vale. Perhaps even invade the Vale from the sea

It is kinda strange that the Tyrells were able to just march through the Storm lands without much resistance. And also none of the other liege lords were able to gather some troops to help relieve the defenders??

Stanis death pained me coz it made no sense. The writers did him dirty and took him out painful.
They need to rewrite the show from season 5

I always thought Stannis was Roberts older brother

People in this comment section think Robert was ungrateful to stannis after everything he did for him. Dragonstone is the seat of the heir to the throne of westoros and which was why robert gave dragonstone to stannis and storms end to Renly. But Stannis being an uptight man say this as a slight and took offense because dragonstone is much more smaller and not as rich as the stormsland. But Robert did that in good faith and thought stannis might see it as him making him his heir until he(robert) got a male child

What I don’t understand is how the siege lasted only a year but they were starving by the end of it? Even before then, since they had already eaten the horses and the dogs and were eating rats by the end of it. It’s not like the castle was fully garrisoned since Robert had taken most of the men. Why was such a large and important stronghold such as Storm’s End left so poorly provisioned that it could barely withstand a year long siege?

Bit strange they didn't have more supplies, . The siege only lasted a better part of a year and they were already eating their own dead wtf
