City Horses by Byström Källblad

In our cities, on bronze horses, proud kings quietly stare above our heads. Their history and visual male dominance daily manifested and passed on to the next generation. Where are the women and their stories? In the choreography, City Horses, female dancers make the squares and streets their stage and gallop through, city to city passing forward an experience about power, existence and the female body in the public space, a living monument in constant motion, celebrating female courage and power of all ages.

City Horses is a Big Pulse Dance Alliance co-production, co-produced by Sismògraf Dance Festival (Catalonia - Spain), Julidans (The Netherlands), Tanz im August/HAU Hebbel am Ufer (Germany), CODA Oslo International Dance Festival (Norway) and presented by International Dance Festival TANEC PRAHA (The Czech Republic), Danscentrum Sverige (Sweden), co-funded by the Creative Europe programme of the European Union.
