The rear sight is actually your elevation adjustment. Counter clockwise will raise point of impact.

Went to the range earlier today and got it Zeroed in perfectly! Thanks again! I was curious if you could run me through how you set up your scope on it. Sorry for asking for so much I’m a fresh newbie so I’m clueless on a lot beyond how to break down and clean 😅

Great video!

I think my rear sight was messed up, would only turn one way and it got stuck once. So I took it apart, now it’s shooting center high!

I’m going to keep tinkering with it, but it was shooting fine out the box. I was hitting my steel target fine at around 70 yards last night

The ‘holes’ are actually called ‘apertures’.

Is it possible to co-witness the iron sights with a red dot?

What kind of paint did you use for your front sight? I want to do the same

I love the MP5 platform, but its height over bore (specially with tall mount optics) brings problems not common to most .22lr rifles.
At what range do you zero your iron sights?

I zeroed mine at 5m/5.5yd at first and it became useless at any other range, shooting way too high.
Then zeroed it to 10m/11yd and now it shoots one inch low at very close targets but still hits 3" metal targets.

Since the front post covers most of the bullseye at longer distances, i decided to zero the red dot (have a set up just like yours, see through tall mount) at 25m/27.5yd. It shoots lower at closer distances, but it only becomes a problem for 3" targets at 10m/11yd or closer (requiring hold over).
So my zeroes and hold overs stand as of right now:
5m/5.5 yd: iron sights, bullseye aim hits the bottom of a 3" target, hold over not necessary for metal.
10m/11yd: iron sights, bullseye aim hits ZERO.
15m/17.5yd: gray zone, iron sights hit the top and red dot the bottom of a 3" target, hold over red dot preferable.
20m/22yd: red dot, bullseye aim hits 1" low, hold over not necessary for metal.
25m/27.5yd: red dot, bullseye aim hits ZERO.
Longer distances: red dot, second zero not found yet (possibly 40-50 m/yd with 80-100 MPBR), no hold under likely necessary for 3" targets.

I'm considering changing the iron sights zero to 15m/17.5yd since I might still be able to hit the bottom of a 3" target at closer distances even without any hold over.

ps: mine MP5-22's front sight does not come with that screw to change it, I would have to take down its carcass completely to remove the front post / barrel band assembly. This is probably featured only in Walther replicas intended for the US market, since mine is the European version (at least It has the proper barrel length, without the necessity of a faux suppressor / barrel shroud).

Cheers.
