Neighbor across the street was blasting this during the April 2020 COVID-19 quarantine. Now I can’t turn it loose.

Had the pleasure of meeting him and his band brothers & sons backstage of the Paramount in Seattle WA. years ago he was very down to earth and real cool gave the best concerts back in the day sound just like the record and gave you your money's worth!

RIP...Mr Roger Troutman
You first and foremost are still missed very much to this day...along with your music and its unique sound. There hasn't been anyone else like you to come along. To this day I still enjoy your first album just as much as I did when it first came out in 1981.
Again RIP 🙏 😪

The Many Facets of Roger came out in 1981. My mom wore this album out. Roger Troutman was a musical genius who left a legacy of great music..RIP

I am 35 and I remember VIVIDLY my mom and cousins dancing non stop to this song. As a little girl I wondered how they could dance for so long lol. Growing up in Ohio Zapp and Roger were GODS!! And now I have children of my own and my husband and I dance for this entire record....I'm sure our children think the same thing. REST EASY Roger!! Forever a fan!!

I'm a retired disabled pediatrician, but I have always loved music and dancing and was also an alto, tenor and baritone sax player earlier. I go to celebrations, functions now with the aid of my cane and specially when this, my go to boogie song comes on, the almost 11 minute version, my body and mind is transformed and I just start getting down all over the dance floor with my balance and moves, enhanced as everyone just gets out their smart phones to record. They all ask me to explain it, and I just say that I really don't consider it dancing, that my body meshes with the music in a symbiotic like relationship and I become part of the music, and I'm happy it uplifts so many people. It's like a byproduct of my so called disability( different ability)!

I remember when this first hit. I couldn’t get enough. All of the kids at my school and neighborhood were talking about it. And we got mad when the radio DJ’s would play the short version. Thank you for this.
