In 1982 on the Mountain Music tour I met drummer Mark Herndon during a break of the band playing softball 🥎 against the local radio station DJ’s. I was a beginning drummer and asked him how to play the fast part on Mountain Music. He showed me with his hands on his legs explaining it was a paradiddle-diddle between the kick and snare 🥁. He said to learn it slowly listening to Ride the Train from the Feels So Right album. I’ll never forget how kind he was to a young drummer and a total stranger! I’ll always love the Alabama band!

Awesome lesson, "practice should not be an emotional time" is seriously excellent advice. Definitely working on putting more paradiddle diddles in my fills, if I practice every day I might be able to play some of this stuff in 5-10 years 😂

Quite late to the party. But I wanted to get this out: this is one of my favorite drum-tube channels. And the fact that this is a single-man act for the drumming just speaks volumes for what Stephen's been doing for free for intermediate/beginner drummers is insane.
