Interactive grass , like the one in breath of the wild.This tutorial is based on a forum post that I saw(link below).So this can be used for creating interactive foliages.The grass bends depending on the players position.We use Material parameter connections to store the position of the player.I hope you liked this tutorial if you did please leave a like and subscribe. how would you add a delay on the grass returning to its original position? I'd like it to just pop bad up slowly so it feels more natural

It kinda works! For some reason my grass doesn't go to the ground level tho... and changing the Z value (blue append) up or down the grass always goes up instead of down. Any ideas why this might be? So how could I change the grass "ground level" to be lower than my characters pelvis? :D I did everything exactly as you except that I placed the Level Blueprint part straight inside my characters blueprint. Should make no difference. :o

So as it seems this will only work on the character/player? You can not use the same parameter(s) on enemies to make them bend the grass as well? How would you be able to set it up so it works for both the Player and AI? at the same time?

So I'm trying to do this project myself and am running into a problem of my Material Parameter Collection being blank when I open it instead of showing the Scalar and Vector things. Any ideas on how to fix this? Because I'm at a loss and google doesn't seem to have anything for me.

Hey very nice tutorial. Do you think this is possible to deform the grass from a 2D texture for a Paper2D project? Let's say I'm walking on the texture and I want to displace the grass

Upload the project please :) and it's not very realistic the effect on grass is like too far of the character

Useful video. But audio is too small. And you dont explain what going on. I have to watch 30 minutes to do what you say in 13 minutes video. And i do it blindly. So tired

The video is awesome. But you need to upgrade your THUMBNAILS. It is very BORING and DULL. A good thumbnail attracts people, which will increase your views, subs, likes and people's TRUST OF your SKILLs also

You need to buy a new microphone. Or at least try to adjust the volume. Good video overall
