GammaOS for Anbernic RG505! Custom Firmware for Anbernic's T618 Handhelds - Setup Guide and Overview

👉In this video, we will cover GammaOS, custom firmware for the Anbernic RG505 and RG405M based on LineageOS 19.1 (Android 12). Thanks to the hard work by TheGammaSqueeze, GammaOS is a debloated and performance optimized experience for the Anbernic UNISOC T618 devices that aims to improve on the stock experience. Please join me for a brief overview of what GammaOS provides and an install/setup guide based on the v1.3.3 release.

This same process should work for the RG405M GammaOS v1.3.3 install as well as the Lite version of GammaOS.

Fyi, for others with the 405M following along with this video, you need to hit the HOME button to confirm erasing user data, instead of the back button (for the 505).

Would the rg505 be considered better than the RP3+ with Gamma OS or does the RP3+ still considered better. Which one has tge better build quality as well? There was a lot of talk about the RP3+ having faulty hardware.

In the gammaOS readme "Quick setting tiles have been added for performance modes" I have no idea where this is and you can't change modes with L1 R1 R3

I want GammaOS on the Ayn Odin. I would be interested to see what all that extra head room could do for emulation. Also I would be interested to see what the battery life would be too. A man can dream I suppose.

Hello, i just followed all the instructions, but accidentally pressed the down button instead of the home button (6m:15s). The anbernic now on the developer tools indicates that the bootloader is unlocked, and going to ADB fast Boot, prompting "fastboot reboot fastboot" a window pops up and the message "waiting for any device" appears. Additionally on the fastbootloader screen, i tried to flash the firmware but the equipment was not detected. On the Fastbootloader file i had to reboot the system, as i could do much more. Now my anbernic still works but loads up a message prior to the Anbernic Logo shows up on the top left side of the screen "fastboot mode INFO: LOCK FLAG IS: Unlock!!!. and a couple of seconds later the Anbernic starts normally. But now i no longer follow the instructions and press the HOME Button instead of the down...and also cannot entar Fastboot mode to flash the firmware.
Can someone help? I know it can be a little complicated, but any help would be much appreciated.
And also...can i run the FlashPartitions.bat with the RG505 on? i am asking because i cannot enter, the Fastbootloader (6m:55s)

Any person with 1.3.3 , which mali driver have it? . Playstore open gl view caps, vulkan view caps or aether sx2, says driver version

Great guide but had the wifi issue once gamma was on the device.

Apparently its common in newer units. So now I need to run the unbricker then reinstall which apparently fixes it...those there doesn't seem to be much in the way of guides for that.

I did all the right procedure but it returns to the anbernic operation system, what am I doing wrong?
