Replacement level birthrate wouldn't be an issue if millennials and gen-z felt like they could afford to raise a family without becoming financially ruined in the process.

How about preserving Canada's identity and encouraging Canadians to have more babies? Everywhere you go it's freaking crowded. Roads are congested. Healthcare system is overloaded. We have TOO many people as it is.

When a politician focus on approvals, go out and ask a framer, or drywall mudder if they're sitting around waiting for the city to approve a house.

This is a common talking point amongst politicians who are taught to believe that "red tape" and the elimination of said tape is the solution for most problems.

It's an easy out, and not even close to what is required on this.

Birthrate in Canada is based on how many working families are HOUSED and can AFFORD children. If the birth rate is dropping this tells you that the cost of living is too high. (People make too little in this country, and everything costs too much, there aren't enough of us working, we're unemployed). Despite knowing this, why do people still come to Canada?

If someone looks at world population (or Canada's for that matter) graph for say the last couple centuries and the first reaction they have is "omg, the problem is our population is not growing fast enough", I don't know what to say.

The idea of targets is stupid. The market should decide not some politician. Saying we want 500k when you only get 400 k deserving applicant's creates a problem

Approval on Healthcare increases an other services utilities and infrastructure. Not just housing. All need increases to accommodate mass immigration. Ready that before/during not after
