This is NOT a promotional video. I pay for all of my flights and hotels (and I always tell you how much!) so I can be as honest and impartial as possible. I do not receive any special treatment that wouldn’t otherwise be publicly accessible, in fact, the hotels and airlines have no idea about my visit and that's the way I like it!

Big applaus for Thai Airways for keeping the 9-abreast on the 777 instead of 10-abreast. More important than the colour in my opinion.

I’m digging the colour scheme, very appt for Thai! The seats also look old fashioned (it’s because they are) well cushioned and comfortable instead of these modern slim line stiff seats. Can’t wait for the Japan series! Thank you for the review 🙏🏼

Another great review Kevin! One thing I would love to point out is why people like me have trust in you. The whole story about you being moved two rows with 2 empty seats next to you was not needed to be told for the reason that you mentioned that people might question that the airline knows you. But, you chose to tell the whole story and be honest there. That’s the mark of an honest and an anonymous reviewer which is seldom the reality on YouTube. Forever your fan! 🤗🤗👌🏼👌🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Took this same Thai flight in economy to connect to Qatar Airways in business a number of years ago (you're right about over-warm Indonesian airports). Was on a 787 though. My flight was full and I had someone ask me to switch seats with him so he could sit with an (adult) family member. I used my tried, tested & true approach of grinning widely, thanking him profusely for the offer but that I was very happy with the seat I'd specifically reserved. Always nonplusses the switch requester and he duly bvggered off.

when I request a seat that has no seatmate the counter agent always gives me the look, and I interpret it like, "You think you're Kevin?"

What a mesmerizing video Kevin as you give us a glimpse into services of Thai airways.

The sign at 3:50 suggests that Thai (and many others) use this lounge as well.

Kevin, you are probably too young to remember but back in the 60s, 70s and early 80s Braniff International used Flying Colors as their slogan and each plane was painted in a different color. I always liked their branding, which is why I use a photo of a Braniff 727 tail on my profile photo.

First of all, Thank you kevin for making honest videos. I'm going to Bangkok & phuket for my birthday in one week, and I choose to live in Capella, Kimpton Maa Lai, and Naka Island phuket. I did not choose them "all according to your video", but you sure did convinced me on kimpton maa lai. I work for a virtuoso travel agency, and I still have to watch your video to learn different hotels and resorts, because to be honest, I didn't been to as many places as you did. Keep it up!

Another great review, thanks! Impressive that ground crew remembered you from check in and made the seat change at the gate proactively - that like never happens! I was travelling a lot with TG back in the mid to late 2000's to Europe every few months. They were always fairly solid. They swapped over to these 200ER's on the MEL-BKK route around 2007 which was a real let down after the A346. That aircraft (HS-TJT) was my most flown TG aircraft and I remember when it had that new car smell! Geez I wish TG had stuck with the livery that had the metallic purple - looked so much better!

Thai airways has so wonderful and charming colour scheme for its aircraft liveries and seats ❤

The colourful enconmy seats remind me of their Old 747 😢

These seat colours are meant to represent the common flowers in Thailand, so it actually makes a lot of sense. Although their present generation economy class colours are a lot more subdued. 😅

Another video, another nugget of information about British high street shops being more international than I thought - this time, WH Smith.

Also, big fan of the vibrant seating - the purple variant wouldn't look out of place on the Elizabeth line.

Ah, the 9-abreast 777 - those were the days! By the way, I love the colour scheme! Thanks again for another great video and keen to see what happened during the transit to make it hell.

Don Mueang is often referred as a low cost carrier airport, in a kinda negative way. The thing is that, providing you only have one flight with no further connections and that you therefore just need to arrive to Bangkok, or that you just have one flight out and just need to leave Bangkok to reach your destination without any connections, and that you are not flying business or first classes, DMK with Air Asia can be a much more convenient hub compared to BKK. Immigration processes are generally much faster, as can be connecting with certain parts of the city. The airport is relatively basic, but offers some nice sitting areas with great views over the runways, platform and the golf course located between the two runways, and there is a decent choice of food. Air Asia, on the other hand, can match economy class of any other regional airlines, with the advantage of being able to select your preferred meal. To put it clear and with real examples: flying from/to Luangprabang to Bangkok costs me much more (for there three people we are in our family) with a much slower and with worse food planes when doing it to BKK, compared to DMK.
