Types who are most concerned with the character of others and either tend to ask prying uncomfortable questions if extroverted (ESTP) or foster a safe approachable appearance to encourage others to share about themselves (INFJ) often get a reputation or stereotype of wearing sunglasses in public. I used to wonder about this until it was pointed out to me that they tend to stare intently into other people's eyes, like they feel they can read your soul by doing so and it would seem they fear others doing the same to them.
