So in this list, I'll be showing you 5 Common Things That Are Totally Bad For You

5) Alarm Clocks

Most people use alarm clocks almost daily to wake up for work, school or other important things.
We all know the feeling of being abruptly woken up by an alarm clock and it doesn't feel good.
Thats because it isnt good for you at all.
A study in Japan found that waking up abruptly is very bad for your heart.
When you wake up from an alarm clock it raises your blood pressure and puts you in a full alert situation.
This being repeated on a daily basis isnt very good for you.
It also disrupts your natural circadian rhythms that can lead to your body not performing as well and also increases your risk of obesity.

4) Wearing Flip-Flops

If you go to any beach or a place with warm weather you'll find hundreds of people walking about in flip-flops.
Flip-flops have become massively popular to due their convenience and breathability.
Afterall no one wants to walk around in closed up shoes in warm weather.
However its probably not much a surprise to you that flip-flops are terrible for your feet.
Having just a piece of rubber and a small strap that goes between your toes for support doesn't do your feet any good.
Podiatrists are concerned about long term use of flip flops.
This can lead to various joint pain and more due to their lack of support.
Some cheaper flip-flops dont even bend as you walk making the effects 10 times worse.
While wearing them occasionally isn't the end of the world, regular use can catch up with you in the future.
If you are going to wear them, consider spending a little more money on ones that designed to better support your feet.

3) Sitting

Sitting down is such a common thing now that some people actually struggle to stand up for longer periods of time.
This isn't how it should be.
Most of us sit down for the majority of the day.
Whether it be at school, work, or just spending the day at home.
Research has shown that men who spend as much as 23 hours a week sitting down were much more likely to get some form of heart disease.
This was found to be true when even testing people who also did regular exercise.
This means even if you do go to the gym regularly, you're still at risk if you sit for many hours a day.
The conclusion to the research was simple.
Essentially all parts of your body need to be used regularly to keep them in good shape.
The more you time you spend inactive the worse it is.

2) Showering

In today's world, we're more hygiene conscious than ever before.
It's completely normal to shower every single day, we see it as a good thing but it does have some negative effects.
Research has shown that showering every day with soap and water not only washes away the bad bacteria that causes us to stink but also washes away the good bacteria and natural oils.
These natural oils are essential to keeping your skin in good condition.
When these natural oils are constantly washed away, not only are you damaging your skin but it can also lead to things such as eczema.
Experts say you should shower based on your physical activity.
If you do nothing all day and not even break a sweat, then a shower isn't actually necessary.
If you're out doing lots of manual labour then sure, shower away.
In other words, you should shower when you need to, not just because its a habit.

1) Wearing A Backpack

From a very young age, kids are wearing backpacks filled with heavy books.
This trend goes on all the way to then end of their education.
Some people continue wearing backpacks into their adult life.
While sure they are very convenient and an excellent way of carrying lots of stuff with little effort, it doesn't come as a surprise that they arent actually good for your back.
As a child is growing one of the worst things you can do is put lots of weight on their back.
You wouldn't say it's ok for a young child to be lifting weights in the gym, we all know that isn't good.
So why are backpacks excused?
Long term use of backpacks especially ones carrying heavy loads can lead to severe backpain in later life.
But maybe this problem will soon be sorted.
As everything becomes more digital, books may become obsolete in school and all a kid needs to carry around is something like an iPad.
