I'd love to know the manufacturing costs per unit for this. I'm convinced that 700 USD is ridiculous and only a valid pricetag because of an enthusiast customer base. Goes for most chinese headphone amps really, stagnating development and overpricing.

I debated a lot and got DX3 Pro+ as my first dedicated amp for my HD 6XX and Macbook Pro M1 Max 16 inch. If I A/B test that amp with the high impedance headphone amp of Mac, I really can’t find difference.
I kept the DX3 just because I was too lazy to return it.

How does Dx7 Pro+ sound compared to Dx7 Pro? They both have the ES9038PRO DAC chip, right? Any sound difference?
Also confused why specs say that Dx7 Pro balanced has 450 mW x 2 at 300 ohms, while Dx7 Pro+ balanced has only 320 mW x 2 at 300 ohms. Is there a typo?

I use the dx3 pro plus in my main (speaker) system and am completely happy with it. I stream a wiim mini into it from Tidal connect via toslink. Honestly the headphone out is just a bonus feature for me. Sounds perfectly fine to my ears. I'm sure theres better out there, but probably not for the money.

so the sales page says compared to Dx7 Pro, the DXx7 Pro+ has 100% more output power, but it lists that it has 320 mW x 2 at 300 ohms, while the Dx7 Pro has 450 mW x 2 at 300 ohms. only at 32 ohms does the Dx7 Pro+ has 200mW more power.

I own the dx7 pro. i love it for my desktop and using the remote from bed. whats the difference between that and plus version tho

It’s just kinda crazy that you can buy an A90 discrete for $600 US and this costs $700. I just don’t see where they are coming up with this price. If you already have a sufficient DAC I would just go straight to the A90 Discrete and never look back. You wouldn’t have to upgrade for a VERY long time. That thing is powerful as hell.

One really needs to want an all-in-one to justify this as it costs the same as a D30 Pro + A30 Pro stack... I guess Topping is now its own competitor, which is good and bad at the same time.

Josh, great video! Something that I feel you could spend more time on is describing why you might want to opt for balanced. I went from the dx3 pro+ to the dx5 because I was getting an insane amount of audio interference from my PC (specifically when the GPU spins up). This is critical for some listeners. Personally, I'd argue that the jump from $450 (dx5) to $700 (dx7) is a hefty one if the only problem you're solving for is audio interference. Obviously there are many more factors, but this is just one POV that I hope can save some of your viewers headaches in the future.
