The problem with "would-be / will-they-won't-they" romances is once they actually DO get together, the writers have trouble writing them as a couple. Several forms of media do this, one example I can think of is Jim and Pam from The Office. I feel like Peter and MJ's actual relationship wasn't written very well, the buildup was good but the actual dynamic of them as a couple was a misplay

Peter was being typical young man going after the popular girl the unreachable and when he finally got with her it shown that they weren't compatible, on and off on and off relationship causing Peter alot of depression something very common throughout the ages we just don't seem to notice that sometimes the best person for us is the person that's always gonna be their for you and talk to you and help you through the dark times, ursula is so sweet in this movie and totally in love with Peter and you can tell she's the type of woman who not only has eyes just for him but trustworthy too real wife material

This is the best “What if?” Storyline related to Raimi’s Spider-Man I ever seen. I agree with Harry being Venom instead of Green Goblin. I think if Sam Raimi wasn’t forced in this movie, he would’ve went this direction. Also having Peter and Ursula is much more realistic and better. I love Ursula.

Also I think having John Jr. as Man-Wolf in Spider-Man 3 or 4 would’ve been awesome as well.

When I was little my mom never liked MJ lol. She always said Peter should've ended up with Ursula instead. I didn't get it at the time cause I was like 9 and knowing MJ and Peter are destined due to the comics i couldn't see why he'd possibly end up with a random character like Ursula. YES!! You hit all the points I have on why he and Ursula would have been a more interesting relationship! Another big thing for me is that Ursula just... likes Peter for who he is, even at his lowest. I'd also really love to see her grow in her confidence in the 3rd movie and come to see her own worth.

In the snippets we see of her from the films, she's clearly pushed aside a lot, dismissed, and doesn't have a high opinion of herself. I think she'd have that abuse-mentality, like "I'll never find anyone better.../I'm lucky just to be noticed!"/or just plain overwhelmed with the idea that ANYONE would like her, let alone her crush. I think she'd try her best to ignore any odd behavior from Peter so as not to ruin the relationship, even if she were hurt. It could even make for a nice conflict, her struggling with her expectations of Peter being different from her father and yet still feeling dismissed in his life (bc spider-stuff is more important). What a conversation/argument in which to reveal you're a superhero!
