Amore Eterno - il calco del sarcofago degli sposi

La realizzazione del calco in resina-terracotta del più famoso e ammirato sarcofago capolavoro dell’arte etrusca. Fu scoperto nel 1881 in 400 frammenti nella necropoli della Banditaccia a Cerveteri. Realizzato in terracotta nel 520 a.C., è oggi conservato presso il Museo Nazionale Etrusco di Villa Giulia a Roma. I due sposi sono ritratti in un tenero abbraccio mentre stanno bevendo del vino insieme, uno dei momenti più belli della quotidianità che si voleva protrarre anche dopo la morte.
Il calco è stato realizzato nello Studio FeliceCalchi di Roma direttamente dall'originale antico.

The making of the cast in resin-terracotta of the most famous and admired sarcophagus, a masterpiece of Etruscan art. It was discovered in 1881 in 400 fragments in the Banditaccia necropolis in Cerveteri. Made in terracotta in 520 BC, it is now kept in the National Etruscan Museum of Villa Giulia in Rome. The two spouses are portrayed in a tender embrace while they are drinking wine together, one of the most beautiful moments of everyday life that they wanted to continue even after death.
The cast was made at the FeliceCalchi Studio in Rome directly from the ancient original.
