Fantastic round up! You totally rock the orange /yellow hair-very Annie Lennox! I for one don’t mind not a lot of plot description, it’s more interesting hearing about what your reactions were. I liked but didn’t love Song of Solomon. I was more interested in the female characters and less in Milkman and his friend. It was still great though. Great to hear your thoughts on The Lover: I read it in English and thought it good but strange. I also did not adore it. And I liked the memory aspects the best too. Definitely intrigued by Jenny Hval I really like her music and vids. The Bernstein sounds interesting: will look for your vlog. Gosh I really need to start reading Laing! Fantastic thoughts on the Birmingham book. Oooh did not know that Lydia Davis was Paul Auster’s first wife! Another name to add to the list! Merci beaucoup!

The hair is fun and why not especially for summer! Good reading month- love your mix of fiction vs nonfiction- I am on a nonfiction roll right now.

What a wonderful reading month, Sophie! I’m taking notes 📝 🐭 Where should one begin with Olivia Laing?
