Big Change in the IELTS Exam Structure, 2022

Based on our information, the structure of the IELTS Exam has changed in some centers in India, and from now on writing isn't the last skill to take.

Before it used to be Listening, Reading, and then Writing.

The new structure is:
Writing
Reading
Listening

It's possible that this format would be applied in other countries in the future, which is a great news.

I think ielts should take those tests in 2 days in first day reading and listinging and then next day writing and speaking thats probably the best way but i dont think this kind of pattern will ever be use though but anyway this pattern seems good but maybe students will get a lower band on listining cause after 2 hours of stress students wont be able to focus on speaker and if theres multiple speaker occur in part 3 then students will miss many questions.

In India 🇮🇳
1. Writting
2. Listening
3. Reading
I just recently took the IELTS exam and this was the pattern

I took my IELTS exam on Aug 6 and found you have to wait around 2 hours before the exam starts because of the identification and photograph session of the candidates. I reached the exam center on time and entered the exam hall but had to wait 1 and a half hours inside the hall just staring at the front wall. The waiting time in the exam hall really takes a toll and further adds to the exam nervousness. I believe such a process should be conducted a day before the exam so candidates would not have to wait such a long time in the hall.

In my opinion, taking 3 components of the test in one day is quite exhausting. I suggest listening and reading on a day and then writing and speaking on another.

I think reading, listening and learning should be conducted in one day, writing in another day. I think this pattern would be great

I think it can have negative effect on students band score . Reading and listening require more concentration as compare to writing so it's difficult to focus on them as last two modules . In my opinion, previous pattern was good

The reason behind this change is logical I think, of cours yes many candidates lost band score due to mind exuastion during listenning part and reading part, the reason is almost all candidates had good practices in listening and reading part that is because of the priority of the different parts in pervious exams. After this time, I think most of candidates will lose their band score in listenning because now writting is prioritized that is funny.

I wrote CD IELTS on the 23rd of August (last week); Listening then Reading then Writing.. Scored L- 8.5, R- 8.5, W- 7.5 and S- 8.. It was just the same as last one I wrote in June 2019, though that was Paper-based. I took the test in Nigeria though.

For me personally there is no big difference following this change of pattern. I still find Reading the most challenging section, whatever pattern it is

I believe that it is an excellent changed. I took the test two times, I did not get the required due to the listening score. My problem with the listening that I was not abled to enter quickly the test atmosphere so always the first section which considered the easiest. I hope my country Jordan apply this new pattern.
Thank you madam for your great efforts.

According to my hypothesis,
It is better that IELTS takes those test in 2 days ; in first day reading and listening and next day, takes writing and speaking.

I suggest same day but with a 1 hour -breaks between part 1-2 and 3-4 and 2/3 hour- break between part 2 and 3. At that point it would not really matter which parts come first.. and candidates coming a long way to the exam location can be done in 1 day. Good luck!

In my opinion, however the structure is been twisted, it don't just make sense having speaking of just 11-14 minutes in one day. And 3 challenging modules that require critical brain work at a stretch of less than 3 hours. Ideal should be W + S and the next exam day R + L. Thanks.

İt means extra 20 minutes are given candidates to transfer? They would be better to extend reading hours but not Listening in the paper base exam. To make 1 hour for reading it is unfair.
