I don't know why, but Himeko sacrificing herself for her beloved student will always hit me in the gut.
Maybe because she didn't seem like the type? She's strict and doesn't show much love for her student.
But when she had to choose between her own life or Kiana and the fate of the world, she didn't even hesitate.
So yeah glad she could join us again.

For the longest time I wasn't aware of Himeko's fate back when I played HI3. I played along the story quests but didn't watch "Final Lesson" as I didn't pay attention to the videos after some chapters and just moved on to chapter 10. It wasn't until I got Vermilion Knight and instantly fell in love her playstyle and her element being fire. So as I got her I just started to building her as much as possible to put her in my main team (Stygian Nymph Seele, Vermilion Knight Himeko, and Elysia). When HSR got released I wanted to get Himeko as she was my favorite in HI3 until very recently when I reinstalled HI3 back to my laptop just to re-experience my early Hunior High life, I replayed the story until chapter 9 and realized there was an ending cutscene being "Final Lesson" where I finally learned Himeko's fate and remembered crying myslef to sleep that night. I played HI3 in 2017 and now its about to be 2024. With Natlan as our next stop for Genshin and thier Archon named Murata and finally got HSR Himeko in Star Rail, I felt left out for not knowing Himeko's fate sooner.

As of right now I am saving every single primogem I have until Natlan's reveal and the introduction to Murata and only then will I start pulling.

Murata has yet to make an appearance and I both love Amber and Himeko in thier respective realities.
Nightglow has been my favorite song since then and whenever I listen to it, it reminds me of that cold weekend night replaying chapter 9 and discovering something that makes my sad to this day.

I am not ashamed to admit that I bawled when I finally saw Himeko in HSR. Seeing her walking and alive after so long… Honestly, it even gives me the urge to play Genshin again just to see her as her Archon.

I’m going to cry each time I watch this! Like people don’t understand how much Himeko meant to us. Like i grew a very deep connection and when I saw she had to wear the suit to defend the HOV I… cried because I knew she wasn’t going to survive in the end but, years later when… Honkai Star Rail came out… and I saw her… I just couldn’t stop crying. I mean…. The entire month I was playing Himeko’s last stand song I practically know both the English and Japanese versions of the song and can speak in Japanese exactly what Himeko last words was to Kiana in HI3.
