As always Matt »» great video. Every time I hear "Node-Red" I think of the movie "A Few Good Men" with Tom Cruise and Jack Nicholson where Tom Cruise asks Jack "Did you order the 'Code-Red?" Well we can easily change that line to "Did you program in Node-Red?" ( lol ). All kidding aside, this looks like a fun technology »» thank you for the introduction. I could easily see a series on this and I for one would enjoy watching that if you decide to do one. Great work Matt !!!

Matt, About a year or so ago you did a series of FIleMaker videos. I watched every single one and these helped me understand how FileMaker works. I believe these are still up on YouTube too and I encourage any Filemaker youngling to watch them. I would LOVE to see a short series on a Code Red/FileMaker project. You have so much knowledge that the basic FileMaker tutorial just doesn't talk about. Yes, some of these are the more advanced procedures, but they are made of many parts of basic FileMaker procedures. We get to see, visually, in great detail, and not at a "conference pace", how these small parts can be used with things like Node.js to make a FileMaker solution have more function. I hope you make the series.

I get a certificate error in local trials. "unable to verify the first certificate". Is there a solution?

I really liked this video.
I also like your idea of making videos teaching about basic REST services and stuff like that.


But in general I like the idea of seeing videos about how to use FileMaker with other things, because most of the FileMaker content Ive seen around teachs about using FileMaker itself, mostly in isolation, but in the real world its very possible that our FileMaker solutions need to interact with things, or we need to migrate to, or from FileMaker to other systems.

Once I watched a video (I dont think it was yours but maybe it was and I forgot?) where they needed to make a seat selector for a cinema inside a FIleMaker solution and they showed a clever solution that was essentially dropping a webviewer in the layout and just making it in regular JS/HTML.
The idea of just using FileMaker when its convenient but having ways of breaking free from its limitations when needed is pretty exciting.


I am very interested in the external data sources options FileMaker has and all the possibilities that might have.
Like maybe you can create and design a database using MySQL/Postgre and make a prototype WebDirect webapp insanely quickly (maybe you need something to show the bigwigs or investors) and later migrate to a native regular webapp.


Have you ever done anything like this?
If so, maybe this gives you an idea for a video.
