It’s insane to see what goes viral on tik tok 😭😭 but I’m glad we have resources like this to find out what works and what doesn’t 😅🙏🏽

If we can’t use Prep H, I’d like to see a video about effective products for the under eye area that are similarly active.

I've used it 40 year's like Goldie Hawn said 40 years ago. We're not blind.

I’m an optometrist, and I’ve dilated a ton of patients using topical phenylephrine and have never closed an angle (granted, checking angles is part of the eye exam, so I wouldn’t dilate if it wasn’t safe to do so). I’m fact, our standard 2.5% phenylephrine isn’t even that effective on its own (we have to use it in combination with a cycloplegic drop like tropicamide). I’m not sure what the concentration is in preparation H. I don’t disagree with anything you said, and I also wouldn’t recommend it generally, but using prep H as an eye cream is pretty unlikely to lead to blindness.

This has been a thing since I was a teenager in the 90s. Maybe even before the 90s. I remember seeing this in teen magazines. Scary that no one ever mentioned potential blindness.

As a newly retired senior, I now have time to watch your informative videos & appreciate the advice from professionals. Noted there were none specifically for aging skin of seniors. Thanks for addressing the thin skin under the eyes. How about how to treat senior skin breakout that occurs, especially under C PAP mask? Should you use retional on senior dry skin? How to moisturize dry skin when creams are too heavy? You get the jest. Takes a year or more to get dermatologist appointment in my area & will probably not be seen if do not have a significant problem and referred by a physician. Your advice would be much appreciated!

Thank you so much for mentioning Topical Steroid Withdrawal as a potential side effect! It is so important to get that message out there that topical steroids are not harmless, and your guys voices are so influential. Love to see more medical professionals acknowledging TSW. I also saw your involvement in the documentary Skin on Fire 👏🏼 Kudos Dr. Maxfield and Dr. Shah

One of my viewers asked me about Prep H for the undereye area today. I've never used it, but people have been applying it under their eyes for - what? - 30 years, I think It never sounded like a good idea to me. Thx for going over the ingredients and how each works on skin!

That has got to be the best researched debunking of a beauty hack. You explained so clearly how the potential risks far outweigh the temporary benefits. I would recommend Caudalie eye cream and Peter Thomas Roth cream for undereye bags.

Got to love Dr.Maxfield's giggle and I think his glasses are adorable 🤓 Hope your arm didn't fall off Dr.Maxfield 😅

There are so many affordable, high quality skincare products on the market that it blows my mind that people still do this kind of thing

Very interesting to hear about this and vasodilators as I deal with migraines and ocular auras. Thank you for highlighting this trend and educating people.

@Doctorly: It would be great if you could address the ''rumor'' that persistent use of Retinol/Tretinoin in the eye area can lead to blindness over time. This was quite the scare for me and I couldn't find anything to debunk this. Thank you!

My HG affordable under eye cream to use when I haven’t slept properly is The Ordinary caffeine serum. I love the Estée Lauder night repair matrix to use daily but it’s so expensive.
