No one could pontificate like Howard Cosell. His oratory skills and ability to hit the Mark were impeccable.

One of the great voices of my youth. Love him or hate him, he was truly unique and he never disappointed.

Yes! Love this acknowledgment of the original Saturday Night Live WITH Howard Cosell on ABC. He had the Prime Time Players which consisted of a few cast members that would become Not Ready For Prime Time Players on NBC’s Saturday Night after Howard’s show was canceled. NBC actually paid ABC for the use of the Saturday Night Live title. Not very many people know this

My God those years were the real Starts, this man here, actor, sport commentator, comedian, and a lawyer too.😊

The final SNL of the Dick Ebersol era. As with the entire run of SNL, it had its share of hits and misses. But the final season was one of the best in the entire run, and it certainly ended in a big way. It's one of the most underrated years of the show.

No better voice or cadence has ever existed in television or radio broadcasts.

Every word is true I'm 70 years old, and I remember that show with Howard Cosell and the Not Ready for Prime Time Players.
It was on early Saturday evenings, and it was, in fact called "Saturday Night Live"
The would open with a chorus of people voiced over, repeatedly chanting, "Saturday Night Live; Live, Saturday Night"
"Saturday Night Live" with Howard Cosell was cancelled the Not Ready for Prime Time Players immediately got this show, which was or is called "Saturday Night", but everybody always called it "Saturday Night Live" because that
First generation of "Saturday Night" fans retained that "Saturday Night Live,
Live, Saturday Night in our heads.

Howard Cosell was the only unique person who could deliver that monologue in disgusting

Howard Cosell had to clarify the rockettes were alive after he mentioned OJ Simpson was in the back with them.
"They were... Alive... When I... Last checked..."

Things went full circle in that episode.

Pretty funny monologue. The irony was that he had four future SNL cast members on his show: Bill Murray, Brian-Doyle Murray, Billy Crystal, and Christopher Guest.

Any idea what became of Rosie Shuster? Maybe she shouldn’t have divorced Lorne Michaels; today he’s worth half a billion dollar$.
