When I was in Vietnam, my trick was to wait for a local to cross the street, I just went on the other side of him, so he would serve as a meat shield

Waiting for the vehicles to stop is like waiting for the river to stop flowing😂

I traveled through Vietnam last November; the "trick" is to walk with confidence in a consistent manner across the street, and traffic will flow around you. My Vietnamese tour guide taught us this!

When I came back to Vietnam with my cousin we didn't want to cross the road but grandmas grabbed us by the arms and dragged us to the other side of the road 😂.

Anyone.

I’ve personally never been to Vietnam… but maybe there is some truth about protagonists getting hit by cars in dramas all the time…

Omg I was at the exact same spot in Hanoi wanting to cross by myself and this nice donut lady came n took my hand to help me cross. Bless her, that left me such a good memory of Hanoi!

I've never felt more German than that one time I went to England and waited at a red light, despite there being no traffic...some collage students laughed and said something like "I think it's safe to cross now!" and I was so embarrassed 😭

I’ve never been to Vietnam, but whenever I hear stories of how streets are crossed, I can’t help but think of Chirrut Imwe (Rogue One) slowly walking and chanting, “I am one with the Force and the Force is with me.”

I learned that skill in Taiwan. I still can't believe I walked across streets with hundreds of scooters in flip flops 😅

I can relate. The first time I was in Vietnam, trying to cross the street was wild. It took me a week to feel comfortable.😂
