Ian Gillan is for me one of the greatest singers in rock history. If you have ever listened to the original Jesus Christ Superstar (the original albums, not the movie soundtrack or stage recordings), Ian sang the part of Jesus and was amazing.

This song was released when I was a teenager and was a protest song against the Vietnam war which I saw way too much of. One of the best songs ever written. Thanks for this one!

I'd been waiting for someone who reacts to songs to discover this one. I first heard Deep Purple more than 40 years ago. Didn't hear this song for another 30 years when I bought one of their albums. Smoke on the Water got lots of radio air time. Perfect Strangers I think is probably their best song. But this son...the is one of my favorite songs EVER. A lot of people just don't seem to "get" this song. But those of us that do tend to really, really like it.
