Multi-cluster networking with Cilium at Form3 - Adelina Simion

Form3 have been building our multi-cloud payments platform using Cilium since the beginning of 2021. We began by using Cilium cluster mesh to connect our FPS Gateway, which is 3 Kubernetes clusters, 2 in our data centres and one in AWS EKS.

Since then, we have extended our use of Cilium to our multi cloud project which is a Kubernetes cluster in each of the 3 cloud vendors AWS, GCP and Azure connected using a private network. Cilium provides us with a single way to control egress, DNS and give us deep network visibility into our cluster traffic.

In this talk we will cover:

- An overview of our platform, including our requirements for our networking solution
- The reasons we chose to build the Form3 platform with Cilium
- Advice and recommendations to other teams wondering if Cilium is a good fit for their use cases
