On September 6, 2002, Elliott Randall, with the help of his pal Darrell Nutt (Me) performed at Neptune's in Fort Myers, FL. The two hour show featured AC/DC bassist Cliff Williams, Paul Fleisher (Lou Reed), and area professional musicians Danny Shepard, Steve McDougall and Kelly Fagan-Eakins. The audience was ecstatic and asked for two encores that evening. This is "Reelin' In The Years" by Steely Dan which Elliott played guitar on the original recording.

Boy can you ever tell it’s the same guitarist as the record. Nobody can do it just like that. So smooth. So perfect!

I love how much Elliott smiles while he's playing. But then if I could play like that I'd be smiling my ass off too.

Elliot Randall is a true master with that guitar in his hands. There's a reason so many chose Randall as a sessions player. Jimmy Page named Randall's riff from "Reeling in the Years" as his favorite guitar solo of all time in a 1999 interview with Classic Rock. He rated it a 12 out of 10! That's some seriously high praise especially coming from JP.

When “Reelin’ in the Years” came out on radio, I ran downtown to buy the “single, ” mainly because of the amazing guitar work. Years later, my wife and I were in a large swimming pool on the island of Aruba. The only other couple in the pool was Eliott Randall and his girlfriend. We spent the next few days together exploring the island. A freaky coincidence, but true!

That dude barely looks at his left hand, while he rolls out a very complex set of riffs. I am in awe.

One of the most recognizable riffs of all time. I still remember where I was in 1972 when I first heard this rip. As a guitar player it froze me.

I'm blown away that Elliot was able to get that close to the tone from the album, especially considering the original was recorded through a raging SVT! The joy he conveys while playing (and singing along) is so great to watch.

If this is the first time your ears have been treated to Elliott and you liked it go out and find Randall's Island circa 1970 and follow his record discography. He is a wonder.

His absolutely unadulterated joy in the music is one of the most beautiful things I've seen on YouTube. Thank you, Elliott!
