Here is a quick overview:
🍼Normal FHR: 110-160

Fetal HR Pattern Mnemonic: VEAL CHOP
❌ (V): Variable Decelerations are due to (C): Cord Compression
✅(E): Early Decelerations are due to (H): Head Compression
✅(A): Accelerations are (O): Okay!
❌(L): Late Accelerations are due to (P): Placental Insufficiency

Accelerations: ⬆️ in FHR by 15 BPM and are 🔥normal🔥
Decelerations: ⬇️ in FHR and not usually normal (except in Early)

💊Remember Treatments with the L's:
Late Decelerations or Low FHR: Treat with 🦁LIONS🦁
(L): lie mother on side
(I): IV Fluids
(O): Oxygen
(N): Notify Provider
(S): Stop Infusion of Pitocin

FOR PEOPLE LIKE ME THAT APPARENTYLY NEED TO KNOW EVERYTHING OR ELSE NOTHING MAKES SENSE😅: The reason the FHR slows during Early Decelerations is because the pressure on the head is putting pressure on the Vagal Nerve (heart, lungs, etc), . Pressure on the vagal nerve causes the heart to slow. And this is why the FHR rebounds to normal quickly once pressure is stopped, and why early decelerations aren't a danger.
