Reverb's New Change is AWESOME! | New Gibson / Fender / PRS Models

Reverb is now allowing buyers to make offers that will automatically charge their credit cards if accepted. This is a great way to stand out as a serious buyer! Ebay started to do this 2 months ago, but it looks like Reverb looked at feedback eBay received before coming out with their own version. Reverb gives buyers the option to send it as "charge me if accepted" or " I'll pay within 3 days."

The feature that Reverb REALLY needs is a breathalyzer connected to the buy button ... that would save me a ton of money.

Back in 1994 my best good friend was given a prewar Gibson F5 mandolin. It needed repairs but not bad shape. Against my 13 year old advice, he got an older friend to pawn it for $150. He never went back to get it. I still send him posting of 1925-1935 postings just to remind him now and then.

I really like when fender uses their iconic headstocks on acoustic guitars. One of the main reasons I bought a Fender Kingman bass… as for the PRS I agree with Trogly on the swamp ash finish. I also liked the blood orange flame top

I'm looking forward to checking out the new PRS SE models. I'm mostly interested in the turquoise and charcoal finish options for the McCarty 594 singlecut.

I love that gibson is still doing mandolins hopefully they make epiphone ones

Those Fender Highways would look much better with a Tele headstock. But they do look cool.

Have you ever covered the Elderly instrument Gibson controversy ? Elderly is a guitar shop In Lansing Michigan who sold some questionable stuff with Gibson logo ! I think it would make a good video Elderly use to be thee place to go in Michigan if you wanted a Gibson guitar or mandolin ! Just a

Yes, PRS SE was always HH outside of the Silver Sky. HSH is new.

I’ve found that mahogany on an acoustic sounds warmer, I have the PRS SE Tonore Parlor sized model with the piezo that’s all mahogany and it’s the best sounding acoustic I’ve ever played, plugged or unplugged.

Interesting. On German Ebay and Reverb it's always been like that.

Just tried the parlor as well as the dreadnought in a local shop. Sounds great unplugged for being a thin body acoustic and a little more my price range.

I can see how that forced payment might be fine with established sellers with good ratings. but I wouldn't dare do that with new sellers. and would definitely pick the three days to pay in case I had anymore questions to ask the seller. especially if there's a lot of money involved. I would rather not rush into something that I'm not totally sure of.

and those Fender acoustics would be similar to a thin line acoustic. I like thin line acoustics providing they project the sound good.

The mandolin headstock looks like the hairdo that the munchkins had in the Wizard of Oz, I can't unsee it. 😆

Your 3 "Non quilt variety" colours mentioned in the PRS update, are actually CE models (bolt-on) Also new for the SE range.

This feature makes so much sense. Even the way it used to be before that. I usually sell my gear domestically, using another platform (Reverb isn't popular here), and I really wish I could tell some of the customers "feel free to make me an offer through this button", since it's sometimes hard to tell if they mean business or not.

I am interested in the new Fender Parlor. But I also want that purple bass the Mod Shop just put out.

So every guitar vlogger is giving PRS tons of free advertising on the new SE's. 🙄

Gibson started with mandolins. How cool is this?😂

I’m not saying you should get a $20k example, but you should try a mandolin out. I don’t play them. But I only recently realized that the tuning is like a mirror image of guitar strings 3-6.

So I picked one off the shelf at The Old Town School of Folk Music (Chicago)‘s store. I visualized the mirror image of an E cowboy chord, carefully fingered it, and gave it a strum. I heard a nice E chord! First time ever playing a mandolin!

I tried a few more chords, and while they all required thought and planning, they ALL WORKED! I was astonished. I put the mandolin back on its hanger, and haven’t touched one since. But there’s eventually one in my future.

Listen to Rod Stewart’s “Maggie May” for one great example of mandolin in rock music.

$20k mandolin? LOL! I prefer my Missouri luthier made Shawnee Creek mandolin.

Great as always Austin! Michael Kang in the String Cheese Incident is one hell of a mandolin player, but probably not in the traditional sense. Check him out if you're not familiar.
