John Mew's lectures Part 8: The Stage One Appliance

John Mew has been working on a lecture series going into more depth on his thoughts, ideas and what inspired them. In this episode he talks about the stage one appliance.

In it variations this appliance is one of the most successful upper expansion appliances in existence. Use in conjunction with Myobrace, copied by many it is the most successful element of the Biobloc orthotropics.

The main aim of the platform is to precipitate debate on why teeth are crooked. Most people are not aware that (in most cases) the dental profession has little or no idea why the teeth are crooked, or for that matter why children need major surgery. The only thing I want to know is if it is not dangerous to do mewing if I have upper jaw prognathism and lower retrognathism, I want to know it because I think that it is possible that my upper jaw is much more advanced and even worse than before, only that please Mike reply since in Colombia there is still no orthotropic professional
