I finished this kit. I'm running a chrome emg 81 in the bridge and the 24v battery setup in the neck pocket. Its bright red and I did not fill the wood pours like recommended. I actually like the way it looks with the wood grain peeking thru the red finish. The fretboard and neck had a slight backbow to it but not bad. I strung it up and got the neck to have a very slight forward bow but not enough. After some research I learned I could use heat to get the neck to move and that worked really well. The frets were pretty good with no leveling but I leveled it some and it's got the lowest action of any of my guitars. It's a great kit and I am going to buy another kit of the same thing so I can make it a james hetfield style in white with black hardware. I'm also planning on buying a few of the other style kits over time as they are just plain fun to do. Even if my finishing skills aren't the best it's still awesome. The les paul kit and the dimebag ML style are next on my list. I wish you folks made a good bass like the ibanez style. I like to upgrade the parts of the kits. I could go on and on about all the great things these kits do you you. Thanks for being affordable AND good. I will note for people who are thinking of purchasing. You will want to upgrade the following parts of any of these kits but the kits are a great starting point.

Upgrades as follows...

-tuners are a must. Mine had to much flex in them to keep tuning.

-pickups. This is all personal preference but I would recommend at least replacing these with something name branded and you will not be disappointed.

-electronics. This is not a must but some people are picky. I'm not..

-bridge. I only say bridge because of the floyd rose styles. I would recommend getting at least a floyd rose special or something equivalent but I have no personal experience with this companies Floyd's yet. I just imagine there like all other cheaper import Floyd's.

Ever since seeing these online, I thought "I would like to do a project like this." The only difference is that I would buy three of them and give them all a unique paint job before I put all the parts together. All designs would be splatter paint and squiggles. Guitar #1 would be a purple body with green splatter paint and gold squiggles. Guitar #2 would be a white body with gold splatter paint and black squiggles. And guitar #3 would be a black body, gold splatter paint and white squiggles. In case you ask, the colors represent my love for New Orleans. I also would like to do something unique unlike those that came before.

Just bought an SG kit in my neck's about an eighth of an inch wide at the mounting point. What do you recommend? Also your guitars are great but you'd be doing everybody a favor if you slim down the neck on your strat.

so, do u use wood glue to glue the neck down.? What kind of glue do you use? I have the same kit, but it did not come with manual or instructions, never again.

My kit did not come with the neck adhesive. What is it exactly ?

The only bad thing about my kit was the truss rod doesn't work really. It doesn't turn much or there's not alot of adjustment available for some reason. This may just be my kit as a mess up that got thru qc. I managed to make it all work out tho.

Building an EX. Neck when set in has a tiny gap at the edge of the body/back of neck pocket. On bolt on guitar would normally shim but not sure how you address on set neck assembly. Afraid if I sand level it will leave the neck at too much of a backward angle. Any feedback would be appreciated.

What is soul adhesive? Did you just soak a piece of paper in glue?
