The beautiful music and especially the singing that comes out of Mizoram and surrounding States such as Nagaland is unbelievable. Just over a hundred years ago their forefathers were head hunters before they were converted to Christianity. The truth of the Gospel has been passed on by every generation and this has impacted on their lifestyle. The Church (of all denominations) is central in the Community and fathers play a significant role in family life. The result is disciplined children and young people who attend church in significant numbers. The Mizo's and Naga's love to sing gospel music in their own languages and English which is taught in school.
Interested persons should research Mizoram and Nagaland through You Tube and view the churches, choirs, exhibitions etc and they will be surprised to find a people that uplifted themselves through education and their love of God. NE India is estimated to be 90% Christian and can be described as the BIBLE BELT of Asia.
